Stayed in a hostel in the woods and got to know Bear Paw. She has a Bear Paw tatooed on her chest. Asked if I could paint her car. YES! Yahoo. Sucked a few other people in to help. I stopped in Grossclose, Va for their Bluegrass Festival. I had such a good time.
There is a way cool bus, the Blue Grass Museum, formerly Lester Scraggs and Ernest Flatts (the guys that used to play on the Beverly Hillbillies) tour bus.
Of course, they had no idea what an Art Car is. They got a twinkle in their eye when discovering that they could get paid for travelling. I look forward to seeing them in the future.

Rock Gap Shelter
Can't believe that I'm hiking the AT. This has been my fantasy for over 30 years. Thank you, God, for everything!

Stayed in the Super 8 in Dahlonega, Georgia, the site of the first major US Gold Rush. Mary and Dindy drove thru here to start me on the trail.
After sleeping on the wood floors in the shelters, the bed felt like sleeping on a cloud. With two soft pillows. It was easy to turn over in, not like the mummy bag that I use for camping For those of you who don't know what a mummy bag is, think about a mummy with just enough room for the shoulders and a small area for feet.
