Becky Bear Paw

Stayed in a hostel in the woods and got to know Bear Paw. She has a Bear Paw tatooed on her chest. Asked if I could paint her car. YES! Yahoo. Sucked a few other people in to help. Here is the final product. You can see that the Bear Paw is the same as on her chest except it is in color. There are also little bear prints across the front bumper. I'm having too much fun. Even though I am on foot instead of driving a car right now, I feel like an Art Car Ambassador. Creating Art Cars, discovering… Continue

Peter Kesel Install Xenon HID Lights in your Vehicle for High Illumination & Low Cost

A somewhat pioneering technology in lighting has arrived at the scene in the form of Xenon HID lights that have given traditional Halogen lights a run for their money. Xenon lights are better in every aspect than Halogens. They are more cost and energy-efficient and last even ten times longer. Five times more light is also generated by Xenon HID lights. If the popularity of Xenon bulbs continues like this, you’ll soon find Halogen bulbs missing from automobile headlights. Xenon HID is favored m… Continue

Becky Blue grass bus museum

I stopped in Grossclose, Va for their Bluegrass Festival. I had such a good time. There is a way cool bus, the Blue Grass Museum, formerly Lester Scraggs and Ernest Flatts (the guys that used to play on the Beverly Hillbillies) tour bus. Of course, they had no idea what an Art Car is. They got a twinkle in their eye when discovering that they could get paid for travelling. I look forward to seeing them in the future. Let Erica know. Hopefully, she will contact them. Check it out at bluegrass… Continue

Becky At-Part 5

Thank you for everyone’s support on this incredible journey. I received financial support from a couple of my friends – Mary in Michigan, Tony and Gayle in Leesburg, Fl. Money is a great help because every day I see finances dwindle, but it means so much more than that. I feel that you are enjoying and participating in the adventure. It takes a lot of time and effort to keep everyone updated, but when I get feedback it makes it feel worthwhile. Thank you so much. Mary sent me a care package wi… Continue

Becky AT-Part 4

Day # 14 Rock Gap Shelter Can't believe that I'm hiking the AT. This has been my fantasy for over 30 years. Thank you, God, for everything! Took the trail to Standing Indian Mountain Campground. It hasn't been hiked in awhile. Mostly down – that's become important to me hiking and riding a bicycle. We came upon an RV. It has been sitting there for awhile with the freshly chopped wood in the back and potted plants surrounding the white wheeled home. The pick up truck parked in front had a half… Continue

Becky AT - Part Tres

I have limited computer access. The story is not always finished. Please, continue to send encouraging words. I read them, get a big smile on my face and move on because ten people are waiting to use the Internet, so I don't have the leisure to write back. Ya know? Day #10 Sasafras Gap Woke up to the worst weather yet. Rainy, windy, cold, can’t see the next tree in front of me. Stayed in the nice safe sleeping bag as long as I could. My jacket is wet. Everything is wet. I don’t want to get out… Continue

Becky AT-Part Deaux

Day #5 Stayed in the Super 8 in Dahlonega, Georgia, the site of the first major US Gold Rush. Mary and Dindy drove thru here to start me on the trail. After sleeping on the wood floors in the shelters, the bed felt like sleeping on a cloud. With two soft pillows. It was easy to turn over in, not like the mummy bag that I use for camping For those of you who don't know what a mummy bag is, think about a mummy with just enough room for the shoulders and a small area for feet. My favori… Continue
